Title: Register new animal

The front desk shall be able to register an animal under an existing/new household.

Required Registration Fields¶

Animal Name
Species
Breed
Age
Weight

Additional fields:

Sex
Date of Birth
Colour / Marking
Photo

The V3 walkthrough states that the desk asks for the animal's name, species, breed, age and weight during new registration.

Acceptance Criteria¶

• Animal name is mandatory.
• Species is mandatory.
• Breed is dependent on species.
• Age is mandatory.
• Weight is captured.
• Weight unit defaults to kg.
• Patient is linked to household.
• Patient code is generated.
• Patient ID is generated.
• Registration date is generated.
• Patient status defaults to Active.
• Photo can be captured/uploaded when supported.
• User can continue to OTP/consent/QR flow.

Title: Create patient record

The backend shall create the permanent patient/animal record.

Acceptance Criteria¶

• Patient ID is unique.
• Patient code is unique.
• Patient is linked to one household.
• Species is stored from the species master.
• Breed is validated against species.
• Registration date is system generated.
• Status defaults to Active.
• Patient cannot be created against a nonexistent household.
• Duplicate patient creation is prevented where a matching record is identified.
