Patient Status¶

Supported statuses:

Active
Closed
Deceased

A closed/deceased patient must not continue receiving automated communication. V3 specifically identifies this as necessary to prevent reminders being sent after an animal has died.

Frontend Story¶

Allow authorized user to change patient status.

Backend Story¶

Persist patient status and use it as a control for future automated communication.

Acceptance Criteria¶

• Status change is permission controlled.
• Status change is audited.
• Historical visits remain available.
• Closed/deceased records remain searchable where appropriate.
• Automated communication respects patient status.
