## Travel Guide APIs (MVP) ### User Story **As a Backend Developer, I want to expose REST Provide APIs for retrieving Travel Guide content so that the frontend can display published travel guides efficiently with basic search and filtering capabilities.** --- # Feature Background The Travel Guide API service provides the backend endpoints required by the website to display Travel Guide content. The service shall expose only **Published** Travel Guides and support basic filtering to improve content discovery. --- # In Scope The backend shall provide APIs for: - Travel Guide Listing - Travel Guide Details - Featured Travel Guides - Destination-based Travel Destination Guides ### API Capabilities - Pagination - Search by Guide Title - Filter by Destination - Filter by Category - Retrieve only Published Travel Guides --- # Out of Scope (Phase 2) - Related Guides API - Related Packages API - Tag-based Recommendations Support: - Personalized Recommendations - Popular Guides - Recently Viewed Guides - Trending Guides - Advanced Search Ranking - Sorting by Views or Popularity --- # Business Rules - Only **Published** Travel Guides shall be returned through public APIs. - Draft guides shall not be accessible through public endpoints. - Pagination shall be supported for listing APIs. - Search shall match the Guide Title. - Destination filter shall return guides for the selected destination. Filter - Category filter shall return guides belonging to the selected category. - If no records are found, the API shall return an empty result set. --- # Backend Responsibilities - Develop REST APIs for Travel Guide Listing and Details. - Implement pagination for listing endpoints. - Implement search by Guide Title. - Implement filtering by Destination and Category. - Return only Published Travel Guides. - Validate API request parameters. - Provide consistent API response structure with pagination metadata. --- # Acceptance Criteria - Users can retrieve a paginated list of published Travel Guides. - Users can view Travel Guide details by Guide ID or URL Slug. - Featured Travel Guides are returned through a dedicated endpoint. - Users can filter guides by Destination and Category. - Users can search Travel Guides by Guide Title. - Draft and unpublished guides are not exposed through public APIs. - API responses include pagination information for listing endpoints.
